Warren Cox
Executive Officer
 

The Executive Officer, Assistant Chief Warren Cox, assists the Fire Chief with the management of the Division by providing administrative oversight and support. All of the Bureaus are organizationally under the direction of the Executive Officer. The Professional Standards Unit, Recruitment , receive direct oversight from the Executive Officer. 

The Executive Officer is the Division's disciplinarian, and represents the Division in grievance hearings. He is also the administrator of  the Division's Recruitment. The Liaison Captain for Chief Cox is Laurence Barton. The Administrative Secretary for Chief Cox is Janet Hedges.

Executive Officer's Liaison Captain

Captain Laurence Barton is the Executive Officer's Liaison Captain and directly assists the Executive Officer with various administrative duties. He is also responsible for managing the Division's periodic vacancy and transfer process, the administration of light duty assignment, and the Fire Complex telephone system

Professional Standards Unit

The Professional Standards Unit is command by Battalion Chief Charlie Campbell, with two Lieutenants, two firefighters and two secretaries, and is charged with the mission of

  • Protecting the Public
  • Protecting the Division
  • Protecting the employee
  • Correction of procedural problems
  • Removal of unfit personnel

Human Resources

Vickie Atkins, Human Resource Manager, handles:

  • Administering the payroll system including hours worked, overtime, vacation, holiday and sick leave
  • Administering personnel benefits such as insurance and the Worker's Compensation reporting system.
  • Handles personnel transactions such as new hires, reclassifications, promotions and resignations.
  • Preparing and maintaining payroll reports and calculating pension reports
  • Overseeing the records retention function for the Division
